Kitchen Supervisor/ Cook
Location: Los Angeles
Hours: Part-time, 36-39 hours/week, Flexible Schedule
Salary: $12.22 – $15.27 per hour + Generous benefits to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off.
Summary of Job Duties:
Coordinates, plans and prepares balanced, nutritious meals for shelter guests. Work involves planning menus, estimating consumption and cooking according to standard recipes and will include cleaning duties. Supervises and coordinates activities of staff, volunteer and client cooks and kitchen workers in preparing and serving food and beverages. May prepare and bake bread, rolls, muffins, biscuits, cakes, pies, puddings and other foods. Keeps an inventory of all food and supplies in stock. Ensures cleaning of kitchen, storeroom, freezers, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment. May supervise staff, volunteer and client kitchen workers. Will arrange for or pick up donations.
Completion of 6 months to 1 year of technical or specialized training.
Possession of a baking certificate with one (1) to three (3) years of related experience.
Possession of a food management certificate.
High School Diploma or equivalent
