After weeks of the lyrical whipping Toronto rapper Drake has given Meek Mill, with records such as “Charged Up” and the very telling “Back to Back”, the Philadelphia-raised MC decided conveniently- after he only released one response to Drakes onslaught of insults (including but definitely not limited to insinuating in diss track “Back to Back” that Mill’s recent success only stems from superstar girlfriend Nicki Minaj and also showing photos on stage of popular memes of Meek Mill in an extremely unflattering light.)- That he has “nothing to prove to anyone” and decided he put an end to any responses on the original subject of Drake not writing his own music. On August 13, 2015 he stated:
“I’m not entertaining no rap/real beef over a rapper! I can’t fall for the oldest trick in the book and I never shoulda entertained it bcuz it won’t bring me no money or success. I’ma take the blame for it …” The Philly rapper declares.
He goes on by saying, via post on his Instagram that was published August 12, 2015 and later deleted:
“I don’t feel like I gotta try to prove myself to the people and end up in a real situation over this fake rap sh*t … all this killer sh*t on social media is like walking ya self into prison and that ain’t my lifestyle and don’t really make sense to me”
Not his lifestyle? Well, It can be assumed that having “bars” and music creativity isn’t really his life style either, seeing as how the most clever thing he did in the duration of this whole beef was copy excerpts from alleged ghost writers and paste them into the one and only response diss he had for the 4 time platinum Canada born superstar. Hip Hop fans, Lets all be glad that this “beef” is over and hand over yet another win to Octobers Very Own.
